I'm Tired
I'm tired
of all this despair
the pain
still lingers
in the air
that we breathe
and the songs
that we sing
it never ever leaves.
We all put
on a mask
and pretend
that we don't
see it
but we do.
So who will stand up?
There's so much
misery
it's constantly
suffocating us
all.
There sits a child
on a street
in the rain
calling for his mother
and
calling for his father
but they will
never come.
For his heart
will never mend
and when his life
comes to an
end--
who will remember
the child
in the rain
who cried
for his parents
and cried
for the hunger
that was slowly killing him.
But as we sit
in our houses
hidden
from the pain.
We eat like
kings
and walk like
queens--
when in reality
we're no better
than the boy
in the rain
the girl
in the chains.
All the broken
children
of the world.
You see,
we're all equal
no person
is better
than the other
no person
deserves more.
The innocent
boy
tossed out
in the rain--
because
he didn't
"deserve"
to be loved
or
the girl
in the chains
who didn't
"deserve"
to be
saved.
Who has the
right
to choose
what others deserve
when everyone is
equal?
You're no better
than the drug dealer
on the street
or the soldier
that lost both legs
fighting for you--
or
the child
in the rain.
You see,
no one deserves
to be treated
like nothing--
when in reality
they are
something.
They're incredible
and
should never
give up.
So--
to the boy
in the rain
and
the girl
in the chains,
life might
seem unfair
it might
seem impossible--
it might not even
seem worth it
but that is now--
keep fighting
you're stronger
than them
stronger than
life itself
and
you won't always
be this
broken.
