I'm Trying
Don’t look at me
With those pleading eyes
We can’t afford the name brand,
You know I’m not doing this
To make you stand out
To make you “a loser”
As you say to me
And your diary
I’m trying my best
To pay for your:
French horn
Lessons
Swim team
Honors society
Because I know they’ll make you
Better than me
But sometimes I can’t do it all
And I’m sorry
But please don’t look at me
With those pleading eyes
Like I’m choosing this.
