i'm ugly (beautiful)

Yeah, i’ve been read like a book

Cover to cover in rough translations far from my own

I’ve been told a lot of things that went wrong with my body

My pupils… they’re much too big

I guess they’ve decided that my nose has an ugly bump, too

And my hair? Don’t even start. It’s not even golden anymore.

Eyebrows? Wrong color. Guys, they don’t even match with my hair!

Don’t worry, there’s more:

My hands are shriveled like a purple smurf in the cold

And my feet are too small for my age

Oh, and my shoulders? Too broad

Yeah, i’ve stood in front of the mirror, criticizing myself

And i agree

I’ve got a bump in my nose, big pupils, my hair’s darker than it used to be… my hands turn purple, my feet are small (I wear 7 ½ for crying out loud!)

And yeah, i’ve picked myself apart for you

Gone through laser surgery for you

And after all of that time looking in the mirror because of    you

I really just needed to take a breath and accept it

Accept the fact that….

I am beautiful

I’ve been looking in the wrong places

Staring at my eyes and nose and hair

This is my mirror, this is where i find myself

So after picked myself apart for you, Jesus helped me put all the pieces back… and here I stand

So if you have a problem with this thing i call my body, you can talk to my Creator

He’s open 24/7, 365

This was quite deep. It was beautifully executed. 😍
