I'm Vaccinated
Nobody knows what happens behind closed doors:
the blood staining the floors.
Not my blood, but he is my blood
Except his is now poison, which he now pours
from his veins to cleanse himself, to get clean.
His addiction has infected me; I am sick
The anger and the pain he just can't contain.
I'm assaulted because he can not refrain
from unleashing the virus that he sustains.
But now he is cured
He is no longer sick because it has nothing left to consume
People are crying because it was too soon
Life resumes
He has left me with the memories still
Memories that serve as antibodies
My brother introduced me to the dangers of in the world
All the chaos and strife
And now I can create my own clean life
