I'm watching the hurricane from my window

I can’t stop saying the same things

over and over and over

I can’t stop thinking the same things

over and over and over

Oh, can you feel the water

coming in over the banks?

I loved the rain that came, oh

how I danced in it

all of the grass died but it was okay

all of our feelings died but it was okay

But can you feel the water

overflowing from the creek?

The music all got too loud

and your ballet got too fast

the trees and the clouds all joined in

the symphony began to screech and clang

But oh, you were never the eye

of the storm
