I'm a Writer Because

I'm a writer because

I wanted to speak without a stammer, isn't that enough?

Majoring in English was met with 'that's unfortunate'?

After all, who ever needed to be understood, to animate?

Words were my match and I'm a girl made of gasoline?

Rising like smoke to elucidate is who we are as human beings?

I asked if the surving words I read could come from my own hands?

Time after time, I couldn't escape what I am?

Every day I reminded myself to destroy is submission?

Really, it's because poetry is truth turned reality, without permission.
