Image is Everything

Everywhere I turn,
In every magazine,
No matter where I look,
Even in my dreams.
The same message plays,
Giving me no relief.
I can’t get away,
No matter where I run.
The more I push away,
The louder the message screams,
There is no escaping,
No matter how much you plea.
Sometimes it seems,
Like I should just give up.
Trying to be like the women
The world chooses to create.
They are perfect,
But also fake.
No matter what men say,
They will always choose the fake.
A small waist and wide hips,
Long hair and full lips.
It’s all about image,
Personality is skipped.
If you want someone to love you,
Find a guy that overlooks
Outward appearance and love him.
As for me,
They don’t exist.
