Imagination

all the nights that I dreamed of you,

those were the nights that I loved you,

yet the nights that I wanted to hate you,

I imagined you by my side,

wiping away my tears,

relieving all my fears,

I imagined you laying next to me,

and that I was finally free,

I imagined you staring me down,

never making me frown,

I imagined you as beautiful as you were,

I ignored your flaws,

and listened closley for your purr,

I imagined you as my hero,

as someone to cry on,

other then my pillow,

I imagined you as my dark night,

ready to win any fight,

and I loved you,

and I still do
