Imagination & Originality

Since when was having an imagination uncool? It seems that everyone wants to be just like someone they've seen on TV, in a magazine, in a movie, or wherever. It seems that the number of followers is going through the roof, and the number of leaders is crawling on the floor. This has become a growing problem that I have witnessed over the years. Be honest…haven’t you heard someone say they wanted to be like so-and-so? Or maybe YOU'VE found yourself saying that? Come on now… What happened to “just be yourself”? You shouldn't want to be part of a trend. You shouldn't want to just be a face in a crowd. You shouldn't want to by a copy-cat. If you want to be part of a trend, you should want to be the one to START that trend. Be the one that people could look at and say “Hm…I’ve never seen someone like him/her before…” If you get comments like “Hey, did you get that from _____?”, that means that you need to start thinking about how you can be more like you. How you can be more imaginative and original. Now…I don’t mean to be reckless like…dye your hair to make it look like you just dipped your head into a rainbow or get piercings that make you look like a human shish kabob. No, please don’t do that. Please. PLEASE. What I mean is to be you. Be who you see yourself to be. Please don’t tell me you want to be like a celebrity or anyone else. Be you. Just. Be. You.

Miss Sugar Heart

Hello everybody, I'm Sugar Heart. Now I know that people normally don't like deep, heartstrings-tugging, tear-jerking poems, but that is what you should expect from me. Of course, you will see my joking around sometimes. But normally, I tell it like it is. I don't sugar coat anything. It's all raw and all true. Read my work, and lemme know what you think~ Forever Yours, Miss Sugar Heart~
