Imagry
It's the period I almost skipped the entire day
Fourth Period
I still dreadingly walk into the room with my heart racing and brow sweating
"I am not ready for this test," I thought to myself with my head laying on the desk
I studied all night long and yet still my head keeps racing with the facts that I hope to still remember when I get the paper
The bell rings and the period starts, and I start to bang my head on the table lightly
I hear the tapping feet, hands, and pens on desks of others that wish the same thing as me
"I hope I pass"
I lift my head and clear off my desk putting everything away in my zipped up backpack
I look around when I'm done and notice the usual signs I see when it's test day
Empty seats, People flying through their notes trying to soak up everything they can last minute
The people trying to place their notes just right so they can try to cheat, and the people trying to see if they can cheat with their phone
The teacher starts to go around handing each of us an empty test checking each and every one of us for those cheating signs
The attempting students sigh and submit to the teacher's rule, but you can see them hating themselves for not studying even the night before
The tests starts and everyone starts writing what the know
I look around to see if I can even get a glimpse at a question to get a little help on this test
It doesn't work and I catch the teacher eyeballing me
"Fuck now I have to stare at my desk only the entire time," I think to myself as I'm writing the answers down
I hear people already turning in their finished tests "HOW?" I think as I'm searching in my mind for answers
I finally finish up and turn in my test and yet still have the horrible time of sitting there and waiting for the bell to ring to end class
i stare at the clock counting the seconds pass by making it seem like eternity until the period is over
But hey i finished the test, however the question still runs in my mind "did i pass?"
The questions run through my mind with the answers I put "Was I correct on that question, Oh shit number 5 should have been this not that"
Overthinking everything but yet can't seem to stop
My mind going as fast as a cheetah yet the clock is still moving like a sloth
I reach for my bag to get my phone but the teacher says "No phones till everyone's done"I sigh in despair
With my head on my desk, I close my eyes and try to get my mind to slow down
I count the taps in classroom, but it still doesn't work
I close my eyes and have my mind go blank hoping that people finish up soon so I can at least check my phone for I have to take the busy halls between classes
I look at the clock and mumble 1 minute left, and look around to see a kid still working on his test
Staring at the clock the already slow time seemed like an eternity now
I grab my bag and put it on my back so I can bolt out the door when the bell ring
Finally, I say when the bell rings speed walking out of the door with no time to waste
Why didn't I just skip that class I say as I walk to my fifth period for yet another stressful test
