Imbalance

I was willing to risk it all,

Yet you left me to fall

Into the abyss of doubt and wonder,

Scared of the lightning and thunder.

Every little thing reminds me of you,

To me you could never be true,

Yet for you I will risk it all,

Even if alone I fall.

I wanted to lift you high,

Limits beyond the sky,

Yet you dragged me down,

Into the ground.

Why this eternal love for you

I cannot get rid of,

Why to me you cannot be true,

Why you beneath and I always above?

This infuriating imbalance,

I took it as a challenge,

You saw it as a death sentence,

Claimed you were always on the fence.

Perhaps it was our different perspectives,

Clashing methods,

Positive versus negative,

Our relationship on situations depended.
