Immobility

Isaiah 41:10 New English Translation (NET Bible)

10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you!
Don’t be frightened, for I am your God!

I strengthen you— yes, I help you—
yes, I uphold you with my victorious right hand!

Immobility

Walking in the path of loneliness surrounded by mankind

Business all around me appears like the scenery of the past

In chosen only-ness where through wandering I hope to find

Someone to protect and secure me so that I’ll maybe found at last

Where to go from here in this foggy world of confusion?

Where to point my face with my head down in my hands?

From where is all this fear in my heart and mind’s illusion?

After wandering by self all alone in this barren desert land?

As in confusion, I lose my temper often and I only hurt myself

If I hide behind my uncertainty although it appears like sinking sand

When I ask my mentor to show me quickly the everlasting “living-well”

He shows me flexibility through patience and that I don’t understand

Honest, beautiful sentiments very much in line with the Scriptural message. The rhymes highlight the poem and the " meaning" is so true of humankind... If we only have faith the size of a mustard seed...
