Immortality

I write to become immortal. Words never die; they persevere despite the death of their authors, the death of their muses, the death of their readers. Words never die. I weave words into baskets To carry memories of apple-picking, child-bathing, life-having Down the hilly but paved trail to my posterity. This fleshy box of ideas will not be here for long So I write to become immortal.
