Dear Jack Vitale,

        You have a great impact

on my life: Teaching me

the congas made me want to continue

playing percussion in the future.

         I enjoyed playing drums with you

whenever you invited me on stage;

and you inspired me to grow

in my musical skilss just like you.

        When I heard about a possible

kidney infection, I was worried

and I prayed for everything to be fine;

But then I heard that the doctors

found out you had cancer.

         I always hope that when I come

to church, I'd see you on the drumkit,

cancer-free, and happy as can be.

         But I'm always disappointed;

I feel as if this big change

in your life,

has also changed mine.

         Through the ups and downs

of your gradual recovery,

I never lost hope,

and still pray for you today.

Blessings,

Gordon Olson
