Imperfect

Love; never-ending, blissful, promising, perfect.
These ideas that circulate in our heads from a young age
Make everyone expect
A feeling entirely unrealistic.

Love; tears, vulnerability, trust, imperfect.
So much more than could ever be described or depicted.
Beautiful in a tainted way...
A rose is beautiful
Even with thorns.

Because I love you...
I can hurt you in any way,
Treat you badly, and make you think you deserve pain.
Can cheat, lie, and manipulate you.
Pain is not love, and love is not pain,
But love can cause pain.
The one worth suffering for,
Will break the chain.
However, I love you because...
I would do anything to protect you.
Go out of my way to make you happy.
Can trust, respect, and guide you.
Your imperfections are beautiful in my imperfect eyes.

Although it may hurt,
Love will always persevere.
Because I love you,
There is nothing to fear.
I love you in ways that are countless,
And the memories we have shared,
Create a feeling so strong and unique that is doubtless...
I love you because
Your smile can make my darkest days bright,
Your presence makes me feel at home,
And I never want you out of my sight.
I love you because
With you I am complete.
I am a rose with thorns,
But you make my flawed heart beat.
