Imperfect Perfection

What defines something as awesome?

Peer appreciation? No.

The media? Maybe.

But does it really matter as long as we understand that what we,

What we are, what we strive to be, what we've become is awesome in and of itself?

Survivors are awesome.

Struggles come on the daily.

Drugs problems.

Alcohol issues.

Eating disorders.

Mental disabilities.

Physical handicaps.

But the awesome part is that we overcome!

We show the doubting

Neighbors

Parents

Friends

Family

Teachers

Bullies

That we ARE awesome.

We've overcome.

We've moved past.

Forgiven yet never forgotten.

Because being awesome isn't because someone says you are.

It's because you yourself believe that you are.
