Imperfection

I have many flaws and imperfections,

My book has many different sections,

page by page, each day goes by,

with broken wings I wait to fly.

I am like a complex puzzle,

consider me a gun muzzle,

the end of the barrel is where i stand,

the bullet will exit but where will it land?

Beauty is defined by words in a book,

but how is it that we know where to look,

how can humans, equal to all others,

be compared to their sisters and brothers?

Am I beautiful, is the question I ask,

but why do I let others determine that,

we all live with beating hearts,

we all hold captive thoughts.

Imperfections are a part of our world,

I am not a perfect girl,

they do not exist, I should know,

I searched for her in my soul.

My flaws are my beauty, my heart gives me life,

Over my words, let's not strife,

page by page, each day goes by,

with broken wings I start to fly.
