Imperfection is Perfect
What is fear besides a four letter word.
It is something that will make you tremble and shake
at the very thought of it. The word is so small but holds
so much power over you.
But what do I fear?
Do I fear spiders like others?
or clowns? or snakes? or the dark?
No, but what I did fear the most was imperfection.
I used to ask myself will I ever be perfect?
Will I ever have perfect grades?
Will I ever be the perfect daughter?
Will I ever be a perfect person?
No, I will never be the perfect person but that
is Okay.
I used to try so hard everyday to always look perfect.
I would fix my hair, my makeup, wear nice clothes, and keep
good grades. But no matter how hard I tried I still was not perfect.
I would have been willing to do anything to be perfect.
It was not possible though to be perfect and I slowly started to
face it. No matter how weight I lost or how clean my room was
I was still going to be imperfect.
It is Okay.
It is okay for me to not be perfect.
No one else is so why should I be.
Perfect is just a word.
An unachievable word that no matter how
hard you try you will never reach.
So I learned Perfect is not what I wanted to be.
What I want to be is me.
I want to be strong, happy. and kind.
I want to empower others especially those who
think they have to be Perfect.
