Imperfections

Dear The Man with Imperfections,

I know you're not perfect, flaws all around
Your mind always racing, never sleeping sound
You've hurt a few hearts, and that's what you fear
That I'll be like them, an end filled with tears
Every second we share, makes your heart pound
But the past holds you back, pushing us down
I've opened my heart, I'll continue to wait
For you to realize - we align by fate
I'll sit here and smile - and let my heart break
While you fix yours, however long it takes
You are not perfect but someday you'll see
Your imperfections are perfect according to me
I know you're not perfect, I've known from the start
But the scars you hide are what's close to my heart
Every passing moment that you dwell on the past
Know that I'm here, my heart beating fast
Your eyes hold so much more than you know
It's time to breathe, and to just let go
For the rest of the world, you've built up a wall
But I see right through it, so just let it fall
I'm here now, and I will always be
I accept what you are, each broken piece
I'll mend your heart, and you'll mend mine
Together we stand, until the end of time

With love always,
Olivia
