Imperfections of a Flower

I’m not your perfect flower

Neither poised or persistent,

When they look at me, they wanna hide up in a tower,

You decide not to pick me, for I’m not your date’s assistant.

I’m not your normal flower, can’t find me in a bouquet;

One day I’ll be colorful and bright

And the next I’ll be gray,

I promise I’m not frightening, I don’t even bite.

Yet you continue to stay away from me

As if I were deadly,

You scream and flee

Yet I’m as sweet as a medley.

All you see is the bad

To you I’m a deadly flower,

I promise I’m not a comrade

I want love not power, please don’t cower!
