Imperfectly Perfect Human

tangled hair,

in it,

i see beautiful knots

tied together perfectly

from her restless sleep,

chipped nail polish

but i see a piece of art-

the bits of color on porcelain,

forming over time

like a crystal cove.

shaking hands,

though i see her perseverance-

she is anxious and tired,

yet she is still here to

complete the day.

it is pretty clear, she ain’t no size 2

but i do not see fat,

i see gorgeous curves

sculpted impeccably

by The Creator Himself

there’s a scar on her wrist,

but all i see is her bravery.

your words,

they focus on her flaws.

can’t you see,

how that’s distracting

from her beauty?

she is flawed, yes,

but so are you,

so am i,

and so

is the

World.

we are all flawed, but

we are all perfectly human as well.
