The Importance of Confidence
Confidence is all I need
When planning to survive.
Say I, “What’s this?” and take a peek
To find a swarmed beehive…
Should I lack confidence, I say,
“Oh no!” and cower and scream.
Confidence shouts, but quickly moves
To act rather than dream.
The cowardly fool is stung and bruised as he
Trips along the lane,
But a confident soul does think as he sprints
And makes use of his brain.
On islands bare and desolate,
All that I would require
Would be fair Lady Confidence
By whose aid I dodge hell-fire.
