An Impression

I see you standing so close
I want to leave an impression
That you’ll treasure the most
And never question.

You smile and talk
But to me you are quiet
And I feel like I can’t walk
Because I feel disquiet.

You are everything to me
But you don’t know that yet
When you say my name I can’t breathe
It’s like we’ve never met.

Sometimes you are so close
I feel happy, then morose
I wish we could embrace
And you would look into my face…

And we would both smile.
This has been on my mind for awhile.
