Impressions

Desperate to impress I compress and suppress to distress all my enemies.

They see me once and they try to steal my energy,

So I kill ‘em with kindness to help remind us that

Both of our humanity and our insanity

Was supposed to separate, but

That just led us to create what we know is equality

It may have different faces but when I see it I’ll say “finally”

Cause now the compression and suppression were worth a valuable lesson of growth and pain that forced the search for equality

Which is supposed to make us the same.
