I blinked

not realizing it was day.

It felt like the movies, you know?

Time moving ever so slowly.

It took me a moment

to realize you were gone.

Just the imprint of your form

in my bed remained.

I showed you all the love

I could offer

for just one night,

and it wasn't enough.
