Imprisoned

In the darkness we share a kiss
Entwined in the moonlight and mist.
Rain cools our feverish skin,
This is a battle we can not win.
Escaping into the shadows of night,
Loosing our will to fight.
He calls out my name,
His voice dripping with pain.
Holding me he calms my demons,
Giving up on a rational reason.
But in the dimness of my soul,
These veins have long turned cold.
Still he whispers in my ear,
That it's I he holds dear.
Even as he waists away,
A dripping corpse, still he stays.
In truth I could never set him free,
For all of time he has belonged to me.
