Imprisoned

If I told you I fear no man

would you believe nothing of this world could ever harm me

Only the confines of my mind

Possessing my greatest demons

Locked within cages that opening nightly

Attacking when your breath slows as your eyes close

Facing your fears may cure doubt and hesitation

But truly it's a defense against the darkest arts

Within us all are beings laced within a poisonous skin

Only harmful to us

These demons creep through our dreams

And shift them

Morphing them into mirrors

Nightmares

I am pained in that I can't escape the trap I've created for myself

These beings are us

They are you

They can't be stopped

Burning holes through our positivity

Through our happiness

I've banished myself to Aksban

And healing light of the sun is the only key

To my self imposed confinement
