Improvised .

So I's sits on this here porch listenin' to the old man talk, he just a quackin' about the church down the road, they wan' the freedom land. That ain't nothin' but a dream, a dream that will damn the white man. If he hear them folks talkin' about that stuff they gon' die. And I ain't gon' do nothin' but laugh, poor chillen ain't nothin' but a lie. But, If the white man take my family then I's has nothin' but a couch, and without a man with a child up on a couch then I's might as well be just the damn house. Bein' a woman in this time it ain't nothin' but a blessin' if you walk in a white man room huggin' and a kissin'. Smilin' like the sun ain't gon' go no where until next week, prancin' round like yo' shoes ain't cheap. When the land is nothin' but the white man you best be in this here house. 'Cause at the end of the day, he gave you yo' couch. Listen to that mouth of his or you won't have yo' kids, that man has his hand on each and every hand. He might as well be God, 'cause I ain't seen a different day other than this. His eyes ain't nothin' but the Lord his'self, if you catch my drift. I ain't nothin' but a feeble woman who's gon' be more than this. This here life ain't nothin' but a lie. This here life ain't nothin' but makin' me smile. I ain't gon' be nothin' but a woman on my back, and that there is gurantee' unless them dreams of theres come true. Just like that ol' man that was a hackin' at that ol' pub, he's named Hue. Tol' me i'm smarter than them other black chillen because I's know somethin' from a different view. I's know how to sew and merrily create that there scarf for white chillen like you. I's happily laugh, even with somethin' pale and new,'cause I's know somethin' from a different view. White Baby, aren't they jealous of you? Them strange, strange dark men a' marchin' down the street, they think they doin' somethin' but they ain't even brush them teeth. Smellin' like the swamp and lightenin' up them lanterns. Ridin' in them cars, shoutin' and rantin'. I's listen to them as i'm holdin' you, baby, up on my porch, I rock you back and forth and smile as they march. Ain't nothin' gon' change, not a damn thing. I might as well take us in this here house and watch the whole thing. Folks ain't got no sense. Folks don't know shit.
