Impudent Child
Lower thy head, ill-bred gauche!
Didst crude passion writhe past thy shelter?
If thou thinkst thine explanation exceeds true rationale,
Then speak of innocence and decisions thereof!
“What of the piercing pupils?
What of the blinding smiles?
What of the malice-melting messages?
What of ‘Yes’?”
Must Thou rampart mine ears with such worthlessness?
God forbid it! Thou heart blinds thyself!
Never hast one piercs’t thine own mind,
Yet also thrive past juvenescence!
What must be said to sear your skull again?
Must I repeat the flaming tomes of livelihood?
Surround thee with dishonest ardor!
Screen perceptive inlets, feign emotive outlets!
These cold words intend not sting nor twinge,
Yet must be stated thus.
Listen to the voice of rationality:
Only mental prosperity shalt govern emotional debauchery.
