Impulse
The want that we do not need
Do not need
Could maybe need
Do need
That my friend is impulse
That strong desire for something
That 99.9% of the time will create complications
That single moment in bed you want to take further
But can’t because you don’t know what lies at the end of the road
That moment when you touch hands for the first time
And never want to let go
But you know, the longer you hold on the harder it is to let go
But Yolo, Fuck Yolo for I know
That Yolo is merely an excuse to make stupid decisions
To act without thinking
Then get lost thinking about how you acted without thinking
But thinking and never acting
Just leaves you in a house without a home
A life without living
Impulse meets instinct
Instinct meets brain
Brain meets self
Self meets fear
Self meet fears
Fear meet Impulse
For we act based on ones desire to react
Then react without reaction
For fear stills the bones
Leaves you frozen in place like a drone
Thoughts rushing, face flushing
Body not moving, body shaking, body confused
So we agree on what we never truly believe is true
In order to give reason to hold back impulse
