Inanimate

With one glance you turned from me, turned to walk away shamelessly. Leaving me with doubt and guilt believing it was I who had done wrong. A crunch of knees shattered the ground as I sank to the most inferior level, wringing my aching hands, feeling so vulnerable. Broken dreams and a broken heart was all that was left of me. Drained and feeble, I wept soundlessly into the palms of my hands. Wept until all was gone, all was numb. No will to live, no hope for dreams, no desire for happiness. All anger and pain had fled, leaving me inanimate and zombified. I was nothing more than a being floating on earth.
