Inbetween

Location

Lone Peak High School
United States

My teacher asked me what a quality classroom should look like.

And sound like.

And feel like.

I'm a junior.

So exactly why does that matter.

This is high school.

Why don't we make the classroom what we want it to look like.

And sound like.

And feel like.

At this point, shouldn't it be up to us?

No.

Because we're not adults.

At this point, shouldn't the teacher dictate what we write?

No.

Because we're not children.

Instead we're somewhere inbetween.

Highschool.

Waiting for college, wishing for elementary.

Bewildered at why teachers ask us pointless questions, and hand us pointless prompts.

But it's alright.

Because at some point we each will show them what we are.
