Incidentally

Somebody has been careless,

There is cigarette ash on the carpet,

The ashtray kept on the table was not used.

Who will clean this mess?

Who will bell the cat?

‘Not I’, said those present in the room,

And many did not smoke.

There was no discussion on this issue.

Next morning, I did not see that carpet.

‘Who has removed the carpet?’ I asked

‘Your brother, Sir. He gave it to the cleaners.’

I know, my brother does not smoke.
