An Inconvenient Truth
Where will we be when our wrong decisions,
catch up to you and me?
We know what we're doing,
yet the thought of change,
is too far from the eye to see.
How can we deny the truth,
when it stands out from the lies.
Is change that hard?
Has anyone really tried?
Our vision is clouded, our judgment corrupted,
the ways of human life aren't sovereign,
but faulted.
Maybe fear is what drives the governmental tower,
the greed, the wealth, the need for power.
The economy could collapse, the debts take a toll,
but isn't it nice to have a place to live?
The only place in the universe to call our home?
We need to come together,
we need to take a stand.
We need to stop,
before fate play's it's hand.
Why wait for someone to make the change?
YOU be the change,
Don't be afraid to stand out,
Don't be afraid to jump through the fire and flames,
Don't be afraid of relentless doubt.
We are all at fault,
Like it or not.
Some accept it,
while others do not.
We are on a road full of twists and turns,
a foggy road where few may return.
Death is upon us if we don't change our ways,
Everything that matters,
will wash away.
Our past will mean nothing,
all of our achievements will be gone,
Cast away into the dark abyss of,
"What went wrong?"
It may already be too late,
but maybe not.
Don't ever give up,
no matter what.
One thing is for certain,
this we all know,
Without a change,
the fate of humanity will be,
directed like a tragic show.
Warning us of all the future struggles to come,
yet we stay comfortable at home,
meaninglessly chewing away our lives,
as if it were gum.
Consequences will always follow,
the lives that deem money not hollow.
Money may buy happiness,
but when the time comes,
and our fate is settled by other means of man,
nothing but dust will fall through our hands.
Why not make the change today,
and redeem our sins for a brighter day?
Why not plant a tree?
Why not save animals?
Why not recycle?
Why not buy a hybrid motorcycle?
Little things,
if done by many,
has the power to,
save our world from tragedy.
Let's not fall prey,
to the ways of life,
from yesterday.
