The Incredible Life

A face littered with blemishes and coasre skin,

and dark, yet bright eyes that show years of wear and tear.

Lashes as gentle as a butterfly wing, able to fly free

without the weight of stereotypical beauty.

Teeth, straightened from steel forged by hard working men

and women, that refuse to follow directions.

A loud, booing laugh that demands to be heard in a crowded room.

The generosity that looks beyond monetary value or time to

help out those in need, and done with a bright smile.

The deep sadness that seems to never go away,

bubbles up past the laughs and good times to remind me

of how I truly feel.

Somehow, the no filter component of my phone camera allows me to

see how I truly am, which helps me to learn of just how

incredible my story is.
