Independence

We march in the mud and blood of the innocent bystanders
With heavy helmets and heavier hearts
Where did the madness come from
Was it the explosion that occurs in our mind when we are cut off on the highway
Or was it the explosion of anger in losing our lottery ticket
Was it the increase in gas prices?
Or was it when that daughter came home pregnant that night
Was it when our foreign brothers and sisters declared nuclear missiles that destroyed our land and we retaliated by killing millions of the innocent .
Why can I not remember the joy in the face of a child but the shatter flesh of an infant falling from the sky like confetti on July 4th is this what our independence has given us
Is it fair to the mother that cannot give her daughter an open casket because her body is shredded and diced like the animals we slaughter to feed our bellies
Or is it fair to a mother has no home to shelter her kids so she tears hole in her chest with tools of sadness and false hope so that they may nuzzle in comfort. Was it fair for the little boy to pick up a gun and fight with an angered mind and a scared soul not knowing that the pitter patter of his feet are going to be drowned out by sounds of gun fire and screaming.
Shall We look up at the clouded sky filled with falling tears and the eyes that they come from .
We are angels regaining are wings because the ones we had have been burned off and torn . We come to God while his angered tears wash away Japan and Louisiana.
We are no longer Gods’ children we are his warriors. As are wings form we stand together because birds a feather , flock together but when do we sit down and recognize that the ignorance that we carry have changed the color of our wings, separating us into divisions that no longer speak the same language ..The people of this world have become so twisted and shaken with fear that their own tongues feel foreign inside their mouths so they never speak up and teach the wisdom of their mind but tonight that will change . Tonight we humans shall stand as one. No longer ethnics but a species united. So I will be the first to stand away from the red, blue, and white flag. To raise my fist to highest mountain. Raise a lighter to burn the flag.
