Independence

Small little desks and bathroom passes

Still restrict us in our high school classes.

Those are for kids, not for seniors

The difference is clear when looking in a mirror.

Teachers must instill in us a little more trust

For now we can cut our own sandwich crust.

They've given me all the tools to create a sentence

Now it's time to give me independence.

The change we students mostly crave

Is the same respect we always gave.
