Independence Day

Strong flurry of winds

makes them shiver

and makes trees drop

their fingertips on the ground

Leaves pile thick on the lawn

and at the end of the driveway

It rains and they are boats in a lake

on the Fourth of July

Red and greens on

People inside are protected

from the water

and are drinking, talking, laughing

Glass mirror on which they float

reflects the combustions

They watch the explosive powder

cover skies with Christmas tree
