Indifference 4

Proverbs 6:9

9 How long will you slumber, O sluggard?
When will you rise from your sleep?

Indifference

It is time to draw the line and go back to bed

Not too long from now the church bells will be ringing

Then I’ll get up to dress and join the well-fed

Who like me to show up somehow to observe their singing

Every Sunday sisters and brothers gather in the church

Smiling at each other or still filled with chagrin of yesterday

Here we soothe conscience’s blisters as we together search

Why we really don’t care about others and their pain

We play here all together as once a week seems enough

To get us back into shape as we crawl in the race of life

Keeping our eyes on the better so when it really gets tough

We don’t have to figure how to remove us from all strife
