Inequality

Inequality

If I had the power to change the world
I’d start with a problem not yet unfurled

How can I live so happy and free
When oppression and sadness are right next to me?

I walk down one road and see the wealthy
With their fancy homes and even their pets so healthy

Yet I turn a corner and see the sick and the poor
How could this tragedy be right next door?

What has our beautiful country turned into
If we can live happily with no further ado

While people are dying from overconsumption
Next to people too skinny to properly function

Life is short and can be happy for you
But why not make it the same for two?
