The Inevitable

I never expected this to happen.

That with two words, eveything would change.

My mind, my heart, my soul.

Everything has changed about the way I see you.

Just friends... just friends.

Did you not see past all of the smiles and laughs?

I'm stuck between the feelings

of love and reject.

They say that sticks and stones will break my bones,

but words will never hurt me.

The truth is though...

That words will forever haunt me.

And as I cry myself to sleep each night,

I realize that its not because he left me...

Its because he never came.
