To Infinity and Beyond

The vast nothingness bestills me.

I look down into hollowed hands,

as heaven’s kiss has not touched all

and few are blessed with its merits.

I climb through thick thorns with heavy feet,

as the glimpse of a world I longed for peered ahead.

Persevering through blinding thistles I wish,

for the future that drives my mind.

The selfless acts of the overlooked heroes,

the knowledge and care they bestow,

I wish to become what they are and to have what they have.

Their beauty is found in the passion they radiate.

Nurses work tirelessly to comfort others burdened by illness,

they desire to aid the less fortunate who are but strangers to them.

I wish to imitate the benevolent acts and their generous spirit,

as it motivates me to continue through the hardships.

I am driven,

I am motivated,

I am hardworking,

I am passionate,

I am inspired...by the future i’m called to.
