Influence ...

James 3:2

2 For we all stumble in many ways. If someone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect individual, able to control the entire body as well.

Influence

Choices that we make are determined by others

Walking on a path sculptured by sweat and tears

Many died alone so we could travel a little farther

Molding all around into the called named: “Our peers”

Tripping many others to fall flat on their faces

Hard to do really with a “foot in mouth” syndrome

Somewhere along the line, we visited all the places

In the presence of all others but surely left alone

History repeated in our existing examples

Defeated lives held up as a trophy

Preparing for the future while barely ample

To finish today without too much moping

Letters in the sand now turned into stone

Matching the writings in our heart

Truth separated as marrow from the bone

As the temporal is ready to depart

Living examples of all that could go wrong

Lives filled with intentions of things never done

Many commitments and promises to go along

Buried deep in emptiness in a never-uttered song
