Influence
Everyday I strive to please you
Because for some silly reason
I hope you'll take me back
I wish that when you get close
And open your mouth to speak to me
That you'll embrace me instead
And beg me to take you back
But you won't
I know all your favorite bands
And I go home to immerse myself in you
Louder and louder
Because I want to be reminded
Of the time we shared
Even if it was bitter, the taste
You left in my mouth
From everyday
Wondering if I was enough
If I did all the right things
I guess I didn't
Because you still left me alone
Even
When I strove to please you
