Your key turns the lock
I can already feel the wrath knocking the floorboards
Smell the whiskey and smoke concoction coming through the vents
Kept the house dark, hoping you will think the couch is our bed tonight
Can’t do another battle like the last time
Tears silently pour soaking the paper blurring the letters
Words of sunshine, beaches, smiles, and ecstasy
Lies of happiness, love and passion
Little stories I allow my thoughts to imagine for my sanity
Without the lies, gloomily there would only be you left to write about
Your hate, jealousy, and violence
Black, purple, faded green shades make up covered strewn on my body
But the moment my pen hits the paper, all reality fades
Back in my bundle of lies, dreaming of a new beginning, and fresh setting
New, all without you.
Ink is not erasable, but it’s going to erase you tonight.
