Ink

My fingers run along the crinkled, yellow papers,

A crimson ribbon holds them together.

I do not need to look at the names on the envelopes,

They have never changed.

Black ink runs through the papers,

Like blood in veins,

Keeping the memories of two young lovers alive.

Their love has never changed.

Their blood, like ink, now flows in my veins.
