The Ink Bleeds

The ink bleeds into the paper

As my pen touches down

My eyes are moistened

As my cheeks are wet with every piece of me.

I spill out my heart

Every feeling falling onto paper

My soul whimpers

At the sounds of very word said.

As I write, I begin to find my way

Through the painful past

The motional every

The flashbacks.

And I wish upon

Every shooting star

That the memories will subside

And I will be able to breathe yet again,

But until that moment

I will continue to drag

My pen across this paper

As poetry is my only relief.

My guide for the past

A searchlight for the future

My teacher for the here and now

Every. Ticking. Second.

Through every moment I have had

I have been shown

That I can accept myself

Every inch of my skin.

My happiness is created by myself, for myself

Taught every time

I see the lines on my skin

Reminding, that I can be hurt not longer.

Through every mean word

Every restless night

My pen is my guide

I become stronger every time.
