Inkwell

The vast hall is

Overflowing

With bodies, but there's no one here

Leaving this

Desolate matchmaking arena

Until something catches my eye

Her

Our love is beyond words

Yet still is

Written

In bottomless ink on the

White parchment

Momentarily happy

Until

Something goes horribly awry

I wasn't supposed to catch her with

Him

Sitting

On the kitchen counter is a single piece of paper

Written

Lying idle on the stationery are

Cobalt apologies

Everything around me is

Shattering

How could she?

Love is treatcherous, traitorous, mean.

I will remain unforgiving.

Stoic

Waiting for the opportune moment to

Strike

When it hits so does the dread

Hoping

For a moment, maybe I missed

Inspecting closer, I see it

The perfect shot

Written

In crimson across the walls

Drops of crystal slide down my cheeks

She was nothing more than an inkwell
