Inmate #96190507
Here I am again, trapped behind these irons bars
Of oppression. Another restless night shall ensue
With me doing nothing more than become consumed in my thoughts.
I sit here alone, begging, yearning, and CRYING, out for someone to look out
For me during this ordeal. Never did I expect to
End up here, locked behind these damned cell walls.
This is a nightmare.
It’s getting worse; my demons are coming after me
With their screams of “you’ll never make it out of here, you’re a menace to society now.”
Everyone keeps telling me it’s “all in my head”, to just “get over it.”
YOU CAN’T GET OVER A MENTAL DISORDER, PEOPLE.
It was those same demons that told me to get a gun, those same demons that helped me to
Pull that trigger and commit that heinous crime.
I am a murderer.
Do you honestly believe that they give a damn
About me in prison? Well guess what, I’m just another inmate,
A disgrace to my family. I had my entire future ahead of
Me…that is, until the anxiety grew and the depression took over.
I lost my mind, and no one seemed to care.
I was alone, I needed somebody, ANYBODY, yet
Nobody. Seemed. To. Care.
I happened to look over at the T.V in the
Corner, and a commercial for the show
Orange is the New Black happened to pop up on the
Screen. It’s pretty ironic, to be honest: I used to think that stuff like that could
Never happen to me. Then the demons manifested, and everything that
I once knew to be genuine disappeared.
What have I done?
Because of my actions, a mother and father no longer have a
Son. Because of those relentless demons in my head, three women
Can no longer look up to their brother for guidance. Because I made the shoddy decision to
Pull the trigger, a three-year-old girl will not have a father.
This is why jealously, ADHD, and general anxiety disorder make such a fatal
Combination. This is why mental illnesses should be taken seriously.
My boyfriend is gone.
Because of me.
And jail will show me no mercy, whatsoever.
No one will show me mercy.
I don’t know what to do anymore. Here I am again, trapped behind these irons bars
Of oppression. Another restless night shall ensue
With me doing nothing more than become consumed in my thoughts.
I sit here alone, begging, yearning, and CRYING, out for someone to look out
