Inner Battle
Dear Conscience,
There have been many struggles this year to battle with. I know you have lost your faith and hope in everyone and everything that surrounds you. However, I am thankful you strapped yourself down and powered through every challenge with bravery and perseverence. Everyday there was an inner struggle to overcome but in the end you changed for the better.
I have been Beaten Down
My soul has been crushed,
I have become emtionally shattered,
Mentally exhausted,
and physically worn.
I have been Beaten Down
Humiliated,
Feeling of a quitter,
Giving up on those around me,
and misunderstood.
I have been Beaten Down
Attacked by my body,
Unable to achieve my goals,
Dreaming of the past,
and hoping for a brighter future.
I have been Beaten Down
...But...
I have Grown Stronger
I have been led back to my faith,
I create my own happiness,
Now mentally prepared for the worst,
and physically ready for a battle with my body.
I have Grown Stronger
Humbled,
Knowing I gave it my all,
Continuing to motivate those around me,
and surrounded by those who love me.
I have Grown Stronger
Pushing myself to the limits,
Succeeding in all I put my mind to,
Reminiscing on the memories,
and striving for the path to success.
I have Grown Stronger
Thanks for never giving up, even when there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel,
Kayla Dodson
